User Role Assignment and Privileges

AppWise supports a range of user roles for various purposes.

Role Description Assignment

Visitor

An unauthenticated windowshopper. A visitor can see and browse public content such as product descriptions, privacy policy and terms and conditions

The visitor role is implicit, not explicit. It is not assigned to anyone.

End User

An end-user is a registered user has an account in AppWise that has been created by the user themselves or provisioned/assigned by Company Administrator.

This role confers minimum privileges levels to connect third-party services and search across content they have permission to access.

The End User role is implicit, not explicit.  Any registered user who has activated their account is in this role by default.
Company Administrator  A Company Administrator is a registered user that is associated with an Enterprise account.  A Company Administrator can see aggregate analytics of search traffic, control which applications users associated with an Enterprise account can connect and can setup encryption certificates to enable 'customer managed encryption' of an Enterprise search cluster.  The Company Administrator role is explicit.  The AppWise support team must provision this role based on contractual agreement as part of the AppWise Enterprise plan.
Company Services Admininistrator  A Company Services Admin is a registered user that is associated with an Enterprise account.  Company Services Admin's may connect one or more app accounts.  The search index generated from the content in these connected accounts is available and searchable by any other user in the same Enterprise account, as if they had connected the account themselves.   This provides a way for Enterprise accounts to connect centralized content sources, such as Wikis with one, shared connection.  The Company Services Administrator role is explicit.  The AppWise support team must provision this role based on contractual agreement as part of the AppWise Enterprise plan.
